Living the Dream
This shop originally started as a way for me to sell the handmade feather fascinators that were slowly taking over my living space. I still occasionally make them, but I began to shift my focus after I impulse-purchased a giant lot of vintage patterns on Ebay.
I've always loved vintage patterns, and my plan was to pick through that box, pull out the ones that I intended to keep, and list the handful that remained on Etsy to recoup what I paid. And then I bought another box... and another... and another.
I love sifting through patterns, looking at the pictures of lives and styles gone by, trying to imagine each of those pieces on me, weaving through the streets of Chicago. Sometimes I love what I see. Sometimes I think those styles might look better on someone else. Sometimes I find something I LOVE and, heartbreak! It's five sizes too small. Either way, you benefit.
This shop exists for the people who, like me, would rather dress in the style of a bygone era. Or several bygone eras. The people who wake up on Wednesday in 1957 and Thursday in 1982. Or maybe just the people who love integrating little touches of the past into their eclectic and ever-changing wardrobes.
