I just love to make things! I hope you love what I do too!

For as long as I can remember I have liked to make things but it has taken me a long time to get to this point, where I am really and truly creating what I love.

I have always been "arty"! I loved to draw whenever I could and had a very creative imagination when I was younger. I loved to read as well and devoured books by Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton before graduating to science fiction and fantasy when I was older. I knew I wanted to study art when I left school and ended up gaining a degree in Printed Textile Design in 1992. At that time there was nothing like Etsy to provide a market place to sell work and try as I might I couldn't find an outlet for my ideas. In the end I went into Visual Merchandising as a career and although I enjoyed it it wasn't very fulfilling. After lots of false starts I eventually trained to be a teacher, ending up as Head of Art in a secondary school for over ten years.

At the back of my mind though was a nagging feeling that I needed to go back to making and creating. Three years ago I decided to take a break from teaching and discover what I really wanted to do. I began to experiment and design again. I took all the Make it in Design online courses and my passion came back. My love of quirky colour and pattern resurfaced and my pieces began to tell little stories of their own. I found that people liked what I was doing. It took a long time since opening my Etsy shop to create my signature "style".

In September 2015 I relocated to Dorset with my husband and dog and finally ended up getting the studio that I had dreamed of all my life. A little place to make and create. Since that I time I feel that my shop has really come into its own. My studio is my happy place! I can look out into the garden, watch the birds and be inspired to design and make my unique pieces. My lovely dog Holly is always there to keep me company too.
