Frequently asked questions
How do I customize my labels?
When ordering a custom set of labels, please type the names into a list in the personalization box on the product listing, send in Etsy messenger after check out, or by sending via email at hello@spiceddesigns.com.
All lines of text on a product can be customized. Most customers opt for just customizing the name of the spice/herb only, such as “Sugar” or “Garlic Salt.” Others customize each line of the label, for example: No. 01, Sugar, All Natural. If you submit a list of labels with no numbers, your list will be numbered in the order they are submitted. If you would like your list to be alphabetized and then numbered, please note “Alpha order” in your personalization notes.
Can I remove certain lines from the text?
If you would like certain aspects of the label to be removed, such as the number, “All Natural” or another piece of the design you have selected, please mention it in your notes. If you would like aspects removed only on specific labels, please note it with a symbol next to that label name, such as “Sugar*” and then list the meaning at the end. (For example: * = remove number)
If the design you have selected has subtitles (herb, spice, seasoning blend, etc.), you MUST list this in your customization as well, otherwise, we will remove it from the design. Unfortunately, we do not have the time available to look up what every type of label is.
What comes in a Standard Set?
The contents of a standard label set vary by the quantity of labels in the set (Ex. Standard Set of 20, Standard Set of 40, etc.) The list of included items is outlined within the Item Description on the listing. If using a computer, you can find this list in the right sidebar just below the “Add to Cart” button and by clicking “Learn more about this item.” If on a mobile device, you can find this list just below the “Add to Cart” button by tapping “Read item description.”
Standard Sets are pre-printed and cannot be altered. If you’d like to purchase the contents of a specific Standard Set, but want to change small aspects, such as removing numbers (if your selected design has this) or editing a subtitle, you must purchase a Custom Set.
Which size labels should I get?
SPICES – For square-sided jars, our favorites are 1.25” Square and 1.25” (W) x 2.25” (H). If your jars are cylindrical, the 1.8” Square is going to be a perfect size. If your containers are the angled style with a round, tilted lid, we recommend our 1.5” Round lid labels.
PANTRY – For mason jars or plastic lock-top containers, we like the 2.8” Square.
Not sure which one you like best or what will fit your jars? Simply measure our sizes out on a piece of paper at home, cut it out, and hold it up to your containers.
What kind of container should I use?
While we don’t yet offer spice jars of our own (coming soon!), we recommend purchasing containers or jars that have a smooth surface for the best application. Applying labels to a surface that is uneven is going to leave unsightly marks along the edges of the label and may even cause it to fall off.
I accidentally submitted the wrong shipping address. What do I do?
To protect the purchases of our customers, we cannot alter a shipping address after the order has been submitted. If you find that your shipping address is incorrect, message us immediately so that we may cancel and refund your order. You will then need to submit your order again with the correct information.
How is my order packaged?
Label orders are packaged in a Rigid Kraft Envelope and include your product, packing slip, as well as a Thank You card. This envelope is recyclable, so please do your part and recycle in the appropriate bin at your home or office!
If ordering as a gift, please make sure to mark that box when checking out. Gift purchases will include a gift receipt instead of a packing slip. If you add a short message when checking out, we will handwrite it on a card and send it with your order!
I can’t wait to receive my order! Can you tell me about shipping?
Our standard shipping method is USPS First Class Mail Package. This provides us with the most cost-efficient shipping method for our customers, while also ensuring it gets there in a timely manner. Once your order has shipped, you will receive a tracking number. After your package has been received by USPS, please note that we have no control over how fast it gets to its destination, and shipping times may vary depending on holidays and weekends. If you notice that your transit details have not changed in a few days, don’t fret! USPS is known for missing a scan or two as your package makes its journey. If your package is delayed more than 3 days past the expected delivery date, please reach out to us and we will look into it.
Do you spell check custom orders?
Our custom labels are created by copying exactly what the customer sends with their order. Due to spelling variations based on region, origin, or specific brands, what appears to be a typo to one person may be correct to another. For this reason, we do not spell check orders.
