Humanitarian worker leaves the mud hut for the workshop

I started to make and sell furniture in the first week of 2015; it was a eureka! moment, although it took a long time coming! I left my job in a HQ role at a humanitarian organisation in Oxford; disenchanted with my remote value to the humanitarian emergency scale up work that I had performed for years. I spent my youth working in the field with Medecins Sans Frontiers; from Afghanistan in 2001 to remote parts of war torn Africa. As a dad, I found the compromise in being rooted missed being tangibly useful in my work. I wanted something more; something creative.
I found authenticity working with the wood items that people throw out. I love the way it feels, smells and how it connects with food production, nature and our industrial cultural heritage. I now work at a community farm that feeds 150 families with local, seasonal organic fruit and veg. I love old wooden farm crates and their rustic appeal. I also pick up interesting items from factory closures and breathe new live into them as upcycled lamps, art projects and space-saving storage solutions with appealing practical value.

Welcome to timberlust! Where no item leaves the work shop unloved. Inspired by local food production, old world travel and a passion for upcycling materials; I seek to produce personalised wooden products that will bring character to any home, garden or retail space.

Cancellations: not accepted

Please contact the seller if you have any problems with your order.

Payment

Payment is by PayPal or direct payment. Commissions will begin on receipt of payment and may take up to 2 weeks to complete. Cancellations will incur a 50% charge.

Shipping

Shipping (UK only) is managed usually through Hermes couriers; the costs are listed on each listing. Some larger items (>15kg) may need to shipped in two parts and/or requiring screwing together on receipt. On dispatch I will send you a message with the tracking number. Please provide me with any specific delivery instructions such as a 'safe place'.
