Hello there, I'm Jane, the creative mind behind Winding Path Calligraphy.
From a young age, I was immersed in the world of arts and crafts, thanks to a family that valued creativity. At 16, the suggestion to learn calligraphy sparked a new passion in me, and I eagerly embraced the opportunity to acquire a new skill.
My journey in the art of lettering took an exciting turn when I joined a cake decorating team, piping letters with icing onto small cakes. Fast forward to 2021, during the challenges of the global pandemic, I rediscovered my love for lettering through a local magazine. Zoom classes became my window to further explore this beautiful skill, providing a source of joy and focus during lockdowns.
For me, the beauty of words written in a captivating manner holds immense joy. In challenging times, sitting down to create something not only brings a sense of calm but also a deep focus. I find solace in the art of lettering and believe that this joy can be shared with others.
My goal is to craft items that not only captivate the eyes but also serve a purpose for you. Whether it's personalised place cards, gift tags, or other bespoke creations, I aim to elevate your special moments. There's a unique joy in seeing your name elegantly written in calligraphy, and I want to bring that joy to your events and gifts.
Tuxford in Nottinghamshire, in our three-storey red brick end-of-terrace house is where the creative process unfolds. The name 'Winding Path Calligraphy' is inspired by our lovely narrow garden, complete with a winding path that overlooks the fields. From this cosy space, I create my pieces on the kitchen table, dreaming of the day when I'll have a dedicated studio of my own.
