I am an avid reader and I love curating my own personal library to reflect my interests and book worlds I love. I am moving into crafting and creating after following and subscribing to many different special edition book companies like Fairyloot, Illumicrate, FaeCrate, and The Broken Binding. I love these editions, but find myself wanting specific things that aren't included, or being disappointed at the high resale mark up when trying to find a sequel or edition I missed.
I've been learning and researching how to use a laser engraving tool to engrave on book edges, and will be using this shop to pursue this mode of special edition books that are unique and special treasures for your bookshelves. I source books through Pango and other re-sale sites and shops when the quality is up to par, I also get new books for some projects, and I hope eventually to be able to receive patron's books to engrave, but this is not currently something I am able to provide.
I use a mix of software and design tools to create my designs, the larger scenes on the book series projects may be enhanced with templates and images provided through the Xtool software, Canva, and Procreate. I personally try to minimize AI use as much as possible, but I do utilize it within these programs to add more depth to the scenes, and to remove backgrounds for clear engraving. For the simpler designs on single books I use a mixture of art tools and software to create stenciling and designs that reflect the book, for these projects I do not use AI at all.
The final product you receive is the end result of a lot of work and effort, from days or weeks creating the design, testing it's size and engraving depth, to sanding and smoothing page edges, all before reaching the final engraving. I work hard to make designs the reflect the book themes, favorite scenes, or favorite quotes so that it is a piece you will treasure.
I am a social worker by profession, and I love the idea of using coloring books to mindfully relax, some of my projects can be colored in by a patron using easily accessible tools like colored pencils, acrylic paint markers, or alcohol paint markers. It is easy to do with good clamps or a book press, followed by sealing with a non-yellowing varnish. Keep in mind that you are responsible for the project once you alter it.

5 out of 5 starsThis is beautiful and will be going in a spot of importance as a book trophy on my bookshelf. As a huge Tolkien fan, I wanted something fancy to remind me of my favorite books (The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings). This is the perfect set to display with a really nice laser printed image from The Fellowship of the Ring. The laser etching is clean and the books are pristine. The seller was prompt and the books were delivered without damage.
