When I was in college I would try to be as productive as I could be during the day in every area of my life. I wanted to be fit, and healthy, and a spectacular student. I wanted to realize my TRUE POTENTIAL in every way. I also wanted to spend as much time with my family as possible and do an effective job of planning my future.
I became very frustrated at times that I would get weary, tired and burnt out from all of these different aspects of my life.
I felt as though I was being pulled in a million different directions and that my abilities as only one person we're not enough.
Being placed in a new environment with empty walls that didn't belong to me left me feeling uninspired and as if every day was just another day. I began to fill up the walls with colorful designs and positive inspirational quotes.
When I woke up I would see the colorful designs on the walls and instantly feel excited about the day. I would change the quotes on the walls frequently to reflect what I most desired and most wanted out of my life during that particular period of time. I would change the designs on the walls according to whatever colors really energized me and brought me a sense of motivation and determination to keep going.
I truly believe that surrounding myself with a positive environment and with images and phrases that brought me a sense of direction in an uncertain world contributed to my success every day.
No matter what was happening around me, my environment was consistently bringing me up . Bringing me a sense of happiness in an world that, at times, was over-laden with stress and work to be done. A source of excitement and joy in a frequently monotonous world.
