A renewed passion for sewing!!
I loved to sew ever since I was a little girl. It was one of the few things my mom and I did together! I made Barbie doll clothes, then my own clothes. I did a patchwork quilt from scraps my aunt gave me.
Life came along, and my sewing machine was pushed way back in the closet!
When the pandemic hit, my daughter was the ER nurse manager at our local hospital. I dug out my machine and made masks for my family. I asked her if her staff needed masks. Fortunately, our local 3M facility donated enough, but her staff asked for scrub caps. I found a pattern online and made one...then made some adjustments based on feedback. I work full time, so I got up early in the morning, made a few, then went to work. As fast as I made them, they were claimed!!! Some of the nurses sent fabric home with my daughter, and we made more caps!
When COVID was finally under control, my daughter reminded me how much the staff loved my caps. She suggested I check into selling them on Etsy, and here I am!!!
I love making these, especially when I receive custom requests for new designs! I will be retiring in the next few months and will be able to spend more time interacting with my customers....I love hearing from you!!!
