Well the old thread is getting mighty full, So I thought we should bring it all over here to continue.
Heres the old one for reference:

You wont find any white turquoise here.
or Crab Fire agate,
or Russian Sugilite,
or "new" jade,
or fruit flavored gems,
or plastic Mokume Gane',
or faked anything.
But you will find frank discussions of mystery materials and mis-identified stones and metals.
