PDF pattern instructions to make this beautiful yet simple to construct "Emma" case, padded, fully lined with zipper pocket and closure, and handles for your iPad 1, 2, 3, 4, and Air, tablet, or Kindle Fire HD (8.9")!
***This listing is for a SEWING PATTERN only, photos of finished items are examples only and are not included. THIS IS NOT A FINISHED BAG FOR SALE***
Super fast and simple construction. Great for gifts, boutique or sell your own creations on Etsy!
The pattern for this set of instructions will fit your iPad 1, 2, 3 or 4, iPad Air 1,2, iPad Pro 9.7", 9-10" tablet, Kindle Fire HD or any device up to 10.5" x 7.5" x 1/2". This pattern is a little oversized to accommodate a device with a cover. With so many covers available it is impossible to anticipate every style and size of cover that might fit. The larger cover I tested is a bluetooth Keyboard style cover for iPad2. It measures 7.5” x 9.7” x1/2” and was a snug fit. Very fitted covers slide in easily.
Looking to cover a 7" Kindle, tablet or eReader? Look at this listing for the smaller size!

You can use this pattern to create a cover with zipped pockets on both sides, or a cover with just the single zipper and no side pocket. Instructions will give the simple modifications.
If you have never installed a zipper, no problem! The method used is extremely easy. If you can sew a straight line, you can make this cover. The inside is fully lined, all seams are enclosed in the finished case and it is fully padded to protect your device. The process is super simple with a professional finished result.
This third pattern variation was developed when I wanted a cover that would be side-loading so I could add handles to the case. I had also had requests for an extra, separate pocket to store accessories, such as a charger cord or stand. Here it is! The handles can be made from any pretty ribbon or belting to complement your fabric selection. They are long enough to slip easily over your wrist to keep your hands free when needed.

This detailed pattern will take you step-by-step through the construction of the cover. Every step is described and a full color photograph is provided to illustrate the step. No assumptions of skill are made (other than operating your sewing machine!) and each step is brief and logically stated in large print.
I have been sewing for interiors for over 20 years and have attended numerous classes, seminars and other instructional venues. I hope that sharing my experience with you in making beautiful items for your home will give you much pleasure and lessen frustration with trying to 'figure out' how to make an item without instructions or with limited instructions.
I also offer sewing tips and brief tutorials on my blog at www.gailadesigns.blogspot.com
