Quilts With a History
I have always loved needlework and quilts in particular. I love rescuing vintage quilt tops that were never finished by the maker.
As part of the process of working on older quilt tops, I need binding as the last step to finish those quilts. It is a challenge to find the right fabrics to compliment and also blend in with the patina of older fabrics. I like a challenge and so I started selling my "extra" binding. That evolved into making more bindings just to sell...and it turns out others also like my fabric choices. All my bindings are made from premium, all cotton fabrics and are cut on the bias.
I also create small mini quilts using a combination of gently used and new fabrics or reproduction fabrics. The end result and size of the quilt is dictated to me by the quantity of fabric available, how the fabrics work together and a little whimsy. If you love quilts, but don't have the space for stacks of full-size quilts consider miniatures.
Please do not compare my quilts to factory made, imported quilts and comforters. While these imports have their place, the workmanship and quality of materials do not match what I use in my quilts.
