Barbara Price, owner and founder of Coketta Beachwear, is a Chilean businesswoman who
has lived in the US for 15 years. She grew up in a family involved in the fashion world as her
mother and grandmother ran the classiest boutique in Concepcion, a city in southern Chile.
Barbara was a buyer for the boutique and she has always been interested in fashion, design, and beautiful fitting clothing for women.

A year ago she founded Coketta and started working on the first crochet beachwear collection with Margarita Gonzales, a Chilean artisan and craftswoman from the Bio Bio region of Chile. Together they have designed and created a unique and colorful line of crochet beachwear for women using only the highest quality Chilean yarns in 100% cotton and cotton/acrylic blends. Coketta Beachwear is inspired by all women who want to feel sexy and classy at the beach, pool, or resort.

The 2015 Spring/ Summer beachwear collection presents a variety of crochet beach cover-ups, including shorts, mini skirts, tank tops, pants, and bikinis. Future collections will expand to add dresses, tunics, kimonos, and vests with new stitchings and designs.

In the Bio Bio region of Chile there is a large community of craftswomen who learn the local
custom of crocheting and knitting at an early age. Many women in this traditional culture are
stay-at-home mothers who dedicate their free time to crafting knit and crochet items to sell for extra household income.

Coketta works with this community of craftswomen to produce custom, fair trade, handmade crochet and knit beachwear. One of Coketta’s business goals is to help the Chilean craftswoman community grow through increased opportunities for work and expand via innovative design ideas for crochet and knitwear.

All Coketta items are made 100% by hand in Chile with Chilean products.
