Painting and history merge in my work
Ich habe meinen Shop gegründet, um meine Kunst zu teilen, die mein Herz und mein Leben in den letzten 45 Jahren erfüllt hat. Ich wollte schon immer sein und glaubte, dass ich im Herzen ein Künstler bin. Ich mache andere Dinge, die mir Spaß machen, wie die Arbeit in meinem Vintage-Shop und meinen alten Fotoshops auf Etsy, aber was ich wirklich für mich selbst tue, ist meine Kunst. Ich habe es immer geliebt zu malen, auch mein Vater ist Maler und es scheint, dass Kunst in der Familie ist, da meine jüngere Tochter auch Künstlerin und Designerin ist. In den ersten 30 Jahren drehte sich meine Kunst um Aquarelle, Öle und Gouache und dann sah ich auf einer Reise nach Mexiko ein Enkaustik-Gemälde und verliebte mich sofort in das Medium. So habe ich in den letzten 10 Jahren täglich an meinen enkaustischen Bienenwachsmalereien gearbeitet. Ich bin Autodidakt. Als ich die Enkaustik entdeckte, waren alle meine anderen Medien fast einsam, weil ich sie nicht benutzte. Meine neueste Serie stammt aus Retro-Kochbüchern und das Thema ist sowohl farbenfroh als auch erinnert mich daran, als ich jünger war und aus meinen Betty Crocker-Kochbüchern mit all den lebendigen und schönen Kunstwerken und Fotos von Kuchen und Torten kochen würde. Die Enkaustikbilder haben auch eine wunderbare 3D-Anziehungskraft sowie einen schönen Geruch.

I started my shop to share my art that has filled my heart and my life for the past 45 years. I have always wanted to be and believed that I am an artist at heart. I do other things I enjoy, like working in my vintage shop and my old photo shops on Etsy but really what I do for myself is my art. I have always loved painting, my father too is a painter and it seems art is in the family as my younger daughter is also an artist and designer. For the first 30 years my art revolved around watercolors, oils, and gouache and then I saw an Encaustic painting on a trip to Mexico and fell in love with the medium immediately. So, for the past 10 years I have daily worked on my encaustic beeswax paintings. I am self taught. Once I discovered encaustic, all my other mediums were almost lonely from not using them. My latest series is from retro cookbooks and the theme is both colorful and reminds me of when I was younger and would cook from my Betty Crocker cookbooks with all the vibrant and beautiful art and photos of cakes and pies. The encaustic paintings also have a wonderful 3D appeal as well as a nice smell.
