Willkommen bei Amelia J's Crafting - Ich bin Sam und wohne in North Dorset.
Bisher habe ich 20 Jahre in der Werbung gearbeitet und dann die letzten 20 Jahre im Bildungsbereich. Vor kurzem habe ich die Entscheidung getroffen, die Richtung zu ändern und meinen Träumen zu folgen...
Ich habe das Nähen schon immer geliebt und das fing an, als ich in der Schule war. Wir konnten uns nicht viele Kleidung leisten, also machte ich meine eigene... vor allem Overalls, für die ich in den 1980er Jahren bekannt war!! Stoff war viel billiger und es gab damals nicht die billigeren Bekleidungsgeschäfte.
Danach machte ich meine Kinderkleidung, aber ein geschäftiges Leben mit Familie und Vollzeitarbeit übernahm die Oberhand, so dass die Nähmaschine in den Winterschlaf ging.
Ich habe das große Glück, meinen eigenen Bastelraum / Atelier zu Hause zu haben und dies ermöglicht es mir, mit vielen Basteln zu experimentieren (kürzlich habe ich einen Filzkurs gemacht). Ich kann nicht sagen, dass alle erfolgreich sind, aber ich probiere es gerne aus - ich fand das Häkeln aus irgendeinem Grund sehr schwierig!
Jetzt habe ich den Sprung gewagt und mein eigenes Geschäft begonnen, um meine Liebe zu Stoff und Kunsthandwerk zu umfassen - Amelia Js Bunting.
Die Leute fragen mich, warum es nicht nach mir benannt ist und die Antwort ist einfach ...., meine verstorbene Mutter liebte das Ammern in all ihren Räumen und war selbst Handwerkerin (mehr Kreuzstich, Stickerei / Nähen). Ihr zweiter Vorname war Amelia und der Vorname ihrer Mutter war das auch, also ist dies zu ihren Ehren von beiden.
In erster Linie werden dies handgefertigte Ammer- und Stoffprojekte sein, aber es wird auch andere Kunsthandwerke geben, einschließlich Schmuck.
Die Website ist ein Work in Progress und ein weiterer Lernprozess!

Welcome to Amelia J's Crafting - I am Sam and based in North Dorset.
Up to now I worked in advertising for 20 years and then the last 20 years in education. Recently, I made the decision to change direction and follow my dreams...
I have always loved sewing and this started when I was at school. We couldn't afford lots of clothing so I made my own...particularly jumpsuits which I was well known for in the 1980s!! Fabric was much cheaper and there weren't the cheaper clothing shops around then.
Following this, I used to make my childrens clothing but a busy life of family and full time work took over, so the sewing machine went into hibernation.
I am very lucky to have my own craft room / studio at home and this enables me to experiment with many crafts (recently I went on a felting course). I can't say all are successful but I like to have a try - I found crocheting very difficult for some reason!
Now, I have taken the plunge and embarked on my own business to encompass my love of fabric & crafts - Amelia Js Bunting.
People ask me why its not named after me and the answer is simple....,my late mum loved bunting in all her rooms as well as being a crafter herself (more cross stitch, embroidery / sewing). Her middle name was Amelia and her mums first name was that too so this is in her honor of them both.
Primarily this will be handmade bunting and fabric projects but there will be other crafts too including jewellery.
The website is a work in progress and another learning process!
