Dieses Werk ist Teil von Julians international anerkannter Kunstbuchtrilogie „Life Behind Bars“, einer eindrucksvollen visuellen Erzählreihe, die sich dem Naturschutz, dem Bewusstsein und der emotionalen Verbindung zwischen Mensch und Tier widmet.

Band I, Leben hinter Gittern, ist der Schauspielerin und Naturschützerin Tippi Hedren für ihre Pionierarbeit beim Schutz der Großkatzen durch das Shambala-Reservat gewidmet.

Band II, Leben hinter Gittern… außer wenn man frei ist, ist der legendären Primatologin Dian Fossey und ihrem lebenslangen Einsatz für den Schutz der bedrohten Berggorillas gewidmet.

Band III, Ihre Augen sprechen noch immer – Sind wir endlich bereit zuzuhören? Gewidmet Dr. Jane Goodall für ihre bahnbrechende Arbeit mit Schimpansen und ihren weltweiten Einsatz für den Naturschutz.
