This pattern was created in response to a challenge from Sunflower Cottage Crochet to create a pattern suitable for a donation to a NICU or other preemie charity. Many centers have restrictions on the size of blanket you can donate (example, it must be less than 30”). Make sure you do a gauge swatch if your finished piece needs to be a certain size.

My patterns can be made using the interlocking crochet method (what I call Locked Filet Mesh/LFM) or mosaic crochet. I use single-row mosaic.

Each pattern includes a single-page chart, a chart spread across multiple pages, and the written instructions. You will receive four (4) patterns because I have created left-handed instructions for each technique as well.

*Now includes a chart marked with X's for mosaic crochet*

Both types of crochet work with one color at a time in alternating rows to create the design.

Interlocking crochet uses only chain spaces and double crochets to create a mesh; the “wrong” side is sometimes as pretty as the front.

Mosaic crochet uses single crochet and double crochet stitches. The double crochet stitches cover some of the other color’s single crochet stitches to create the design. My patterns instruct you to cut your yarn at the end of each row. The back is striped but often gives a faint impression of the pattern on the front (sort of like illusion knitting). See an example here.

I have YouTube tutorials available for both crochet methods! Follow this link (https://linktr.ee/LFMandMosaic) to get to my YouTube channel and find my other social links.

This pattern was beautiful to work up and the instructions and included grids were wonderful to work with. I really appreciated the written row by row instructions and I know they are quite a bit of work to include. Thanks!

I asked Ashlee to make up a pattern for me of a tiger's head the size of a blanket. She exceeded my expectations to say the least because when she sent me the finished pattern it was breathtaking. What an absolutely beautiful image. I know she worked hard on this pattern for me because her attention for detail doesn't lie. Then I had to crochet it. Well I am new to interlocking style crochet but with this pattern it was made very easy for me. The pattern is all written out row by row in interlocking and mosaic crochet. And of course there is a chart but I never used it. I am very pleased with the results of this tiger blanket from this pattern so pleased that I have to make a white tiger for me!
