FUSSY CUT FRAMES: “SHINE”
Fussy cut frames is a series of frame FPP patterns designed to create a focal point on your quilty project. You can use them to make a block out of a fussy cut printed fabric design, frame an embroidered panel, create a quilt label or add an extra layer of detail to an already pieced image such as HSL Tinies blocks.
This listing is for the “Shine” frames which have a border of radiating stripes around an inset square / diamond center panel. The finished block for both options is square.
It includes 2 different layouts: a square-in-square, and a diamond-in-square (inset square-on-point center panel).
FINISHED BLOCK SIZES:
Square-in-Square (Small) 4" x 4" (Center panel: 2½" x 2½")
Square-in-Square (Large) 8" x 8" (Center panel: 5" x 5")
Diamond-in-Square (small) 5½" x 5½" (Center panel: 3½" x 3½")
Diamond-in-Square (large) 8" x 8" (Center panel: 5" x 5")
ADJUSTING THE SIZES: Instructions and formulas are given to enable you to enlarge or reduce the block sizes to fit your choice of center panel.
LEVEL: Confident beginner. A basic understanding of foundation paper piecing and how to assemble multiple templates into a block is required. The Square-in-square option has Y-seams. Instructions as well as a link to a video tutorial are provided to help you ace these.
TECHNIQUE: FPP (Foundation Paper Piecing)
