I'm pleased to finally offer you the PDF pattern for the Well Traveled Sewing Book.

I created this sewing book to have a place to store my needles, snips, and a few skeins of floss with my embroidery cards for when I travel... hence the name.

The "pages" that are sewn directly into the book can be customized by you to accommodate your particular storage needs, or just to look pretty.

The pattern is broken up into two PDF's. One for the sewing book. One for the insertable pages.

A basic knowledge of sewing is necessary and a moderate to advanced knowledge of sewing may be necessary to customize your "Pages" however, this is not necessary. The basic pattern for the pages is not difficult and is provided.

All recommendations for Pellon interfacing are simply recommendations. If these materials are difficult to find, you can sew it without them, however your book will be quite soft and not have the body that I like in mine. Some may prefer a "soft" book, however, and this is purely personal.

Finished book measures approximately 7" x 8 1/2" x 1" plus handles.

***THIS IS A PDF PATTERN ONLY. A PDF VIEWER IS NECESSARY***

Enjoy and happy traveling with your new sewing book!

Okay, so all of the instructions are there. And you're looking at them. You know what you're supposed to do, and you're excited at the prospect of making the more difficult pocket. Then, you realize that you are me, that you embroider and have no talent for hand sewing. (You would think that the one would translate and make the other one easier. No. For some unholy reason, no.) Where's that darn sewing machine?, you think to yourself. Oh. Right. There isn't one. Also, your adorable stash of fabric is low. Because you never had one. And, so, that is the story of how I haven't made this. Yet. Mark my words: I will make and use this thingy! And it will be awesome! (Really, the directions are solid and the whole thing is such a great idea. I have various notions and such scattered around the house. This would be wonderful to have.)

I have been eagerly looking forward to this pattern and it didn't disappoint. I am so excited to make my own beautiful sewing book! Excellent instructions with a bit of room to play and customize to my own tastes. Thank you!!

Absolutely perfect - I made a softer version because I only had lighter weight interfacing on hand, but it still worked wonderfully. If I had one criticism, it would be to include metric measurements next time. Otherwise very easy and clear instructions.
