Epona was the horse goddess of the ancient Celts. Her name translates as "The Great Mare" and her worship was widespread across the European continent.
Horses were well depicted by the ancient Celts, on stone crosses and in manuscripts, which is understandable when you think of the value horses brought in both transportation and hunting and fighting! Even today the Irish highly value horse racing, known as the "sport of kings".
This image is made in a traditional Celtic Rundle style with three entwined horses and copious knot work. The overall shape is a shield design... perfect for the spirit of a modern Celtic warrior!

A lot has been published in the last few years about the benefits of coloring. Whether you enjoy it as a bit of personal time for yourself, as something to turn your mind off from the ongoing chatter of daily life's demands, or maybe you're like me and you're a magpie for anything colored!! Coloring can be a way to destress and as some "me time" back into your life.
What will your project for this week be?
Enjoy, and happy coloring!
