Making a Life
I’m not a new maker of objects, it’s in my blood. I was raised with an appreciation for the hand-made and for art. My mother is a maker, and her mother as well, so I come by it naturally. I started making “things” young, I don’t even think that I was in the double digits when I sold my first works of craft. Crafting and art appreciation was a way of life in my house as a child.
I have always for as long as I can remember wanted to be an interior designer, I dream of home interiors. So as a teen I studied art got into a great art/design school finished the general first year studies and got accepted into the interior design program. Then I met a boy…who swept me off my feet and changed the direction of my career. I followed him to school, which happened to be the School of Crafts and Design where I majored in furniture. I am now wholeheartedly a furniture geek. I work in the furniture world, but I live in the crafting world. I am at my happiest when I am making something, anything, it doesn’t matter what it is. I would like to share some of the objects that I have made in the last little while that make me happy.
