After spending many summers volunteering at the Calgary historical village, Heritage Park, Michael knew he wanted to have his own forge, as the very thought of firing up the forge sparked such overflow of excitement and joy. After finishing his first blacksmithing hammer from scratch, Michael put out the intention of manifesting his own anvil. Shortly after, he remembered a childhood memory of turning a blower for a blacksmithing forge at a family farm, though he was unaware of its purpose at the time. Upon reaching out to the family member, the owner was delighted that a keen youth was interested in putting the anvil to work again, and generously donated the entire contents of the antique blacksmith shop for Michael’s enjoyment.
