Hi there! I’m Cheri, the heart and hands behind HandmadeU.
Crafting has always been my happy place—a way to express myself, recharge, and connect with others. My background in Student Affairs includes over 15 years in Residence Life and Leadership Development. During those years, crafting became a form of self-care and a creative tool to build relationships with students and staff. I cherished every “aha” moment when someone discovered their potential, and now I channel that same passion into Handmade U.
When I first started my shop, I focused on creating RA door tags to help ease the stress of those long, demanding training days. I saw how hard RAs worked—training from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., then staying up late to decorate doors and bulletin boards. I wanted to make their lives just a little easier by providing ready-made options that still felt personal and creative.
Fast forward to 2024, HandmadeU has grown into so much more than door tags. Today, we offer workshops, DIY custom blanks, and craft supplies to educate, empower, and equip future handmade sellers—tying back to my passion for helping people develop their skills and confidence. We also create unique handmade gifts designed to help you connect with the people you care about in meaningful ways.
