In 2013, I caught the bullet journal bug. Since then, I’ve been a serial bullet journaler and planner. The appeal of having something artistic that could be used as both a journal and a planner was just too good to be true for me. However, I also often found myself frustrated at my lack of artistic skill, and my fumbled pages often were discouraging. That’s where digital planning and the iPad Pro entered my life and saved the day!
With digital planning, when I make a mistake or mess up, I can easily undo and try again. When I design or create something, I can reuse it and tweak it as many times as I need. The freedom in this process was completely addictive and I quickly fell down the digital planning rabbit hole. I grabbed every digital planner I could get my hands on, and loved every single one of them. But as I settled into the system that worked best for me, I found myself wishing I could take bits and pieces of each planner solution and combined them into one “perfect” planner for me.
If you’ve ever attempted to write a book, you may have heard the saying to “write the book you want to read.” Well, I decided to design the planner I wanted to use. And then I built upon that, and kept going, until I had multiple options and designs and was in love with each one. I thought that maybe there were others out there like me, who were on a constant quest to find their digital planner peace. After all, everyone needs something a little different, and what’s perfect for me may not be perfect for everyone – but – if I can offer the same “perfect” planner that I found for me to even one other person, it’s completely worth it!
