Welcome! My name is Ria and I am the creator and owner of Mis Mundos. I was born and raised in Greece in a home full of art and craft. Growing up I moved to the UK where I completed my BA (Hons) in Business Studies and then I continued traveling and living to other countries, which led me to a totally different professional path than my original studies.
During that time I learned more about gemstones, their symbolism, uses and properties. Initially I used them during meditation and later on I studied silversmithing and I was taught how to incorporate them into jewelry. That’s how the art of silversmithing became a passion.
Through my studies I learned how to make this passion into a business and share it with people from different parts of the world and through traveling I learned the importance of working on something I truly love.
In 2012 I created Mis Mundos, which means “my worlds” and started working internationally with thousands of wonderful customers. Since then all my pieces are exclusively custom made for each customer.
I work in my studio in Piraeus, the port city of Athens, where I create jewelry and work with ethically sourced sterling silver, gold, diamonds and gemstones. These are all in their natural form, so that each piece has an organic feel and a raw, natural look. Above everything the making process of my jewelry is sustainable. I am a fan of traditional silversmithing techniques and I prefer working with hand tools and natural liquid solutions instead of chemicals. Therefore the diamonds I use are all conflict free and sourced from reliable sources which comply with the Kimberley Process Certification.
My work has the esthetic of antique and vintage jewelry mixed with natural finishes and elemements like twigs and raw gemstones. The botanical parts of my jewelry are made of real twigs and leaves that I collect from nature and then I cast into 925 solid sterling silver by using the ancient Lost Wax technique. My aim is to make pieces that are comfortable to wear and have a natural and distinctive character.
Each piece is handcrafted with extra care for each customer after their order and this makes it unique for its owner. Small little things like a pretty small piece of jewelry can sometimes make ourselves and our life a bit more beautiful :-)
