Meine Reise zur Schmuckherstellung
My Jewelry Making Journey
Mit etwa acht oder neun Jahren lernte ich zum ersten Mal, wie man Schmuck herstellt. Eine Freundin hat mir beigebracht, wie sie Ohrhänger herstellt, und ich fand es so cool, eigene Stücke entwerfen zu können! Ich habe mit ihr ein paar Paare gemacht, die ich bis heute habe.
Ich habe damals nicht viel darüber nachgedacht, da es sich um eine zufällige Nachmittagsaktivität handelte, aber schnell vor Weihnachten 2015 wollte ich in der Lage sein, meine eigenen Vorräte zu haben. Also kaufte mir ein Familienmitglied ein paar Werkzeuge und Perlen, um mich auf den Weg zu machen.
Wie Sie wahrscheinlich schon ahnen konnten, habe ich mich darin verliebt. Ich begann mehr in mein Handwerk zu investieren und arbeitete daran, meine Fähigkeiten zu verbessern. Ich liebe es, die Grenzen meines Wissens und Könnens zu erweitern, um neue und einzigartigere Designs zu schaffen. Ich habe mich mit vielen Bereichen der Schmuckherstellung beschäftigt, und eine Zeit lang waren Ohrringe das Einzige, mit dem ich mich am wohlsten fühlte.
Etwa Anfang 2022 wurde ich jedoch gebeten, ein ganz bestimmtes Design zu entwerfen. Etwas, das ich noch nie zuvor gemacht hatte, und ich wollte es unbedingt versuchen. Ich war vom Ergebnis begeistert und habe meine Fähigkeiten erlernt. Ich beschloss, meiner Kreativität freien Lauf zu lassen und begann bei jeder Gelegenheit, neue Ideen zu skizzieren, damit ich sie nicht vergaß, wenn ich mich das nächste Mal an die Schmuckherstellung setzte. Bis zum Herbst habe ich ständig neue Designs entworfen und jede Sekunde davon genossen.
Ich komme wieder in Schwung und könnte nicht glücklicher darüber sein. Ich arbeite daran, meinen Shop wieder aufzubauen und weiterhin auf Etsy verkaufen zu können.
I first learned how to make jewelry when I was about eight or nine years old. A friend taught me how she made dangle earrings, and I thought it was so cool to be able to design your own pieces! I made a couple pairs along with her, which I still have to this day.
I didn't think much of this at the time, as it was a random afternoon activity, but fast forward to Christmas of 2015, and I wanted to be able to have my own supplies. So a family member bought me some tools and beads to start me on my way.
As you could probably deduce by now, I fell in love with it. I started investing more into my craft and worked on honing my skills. I love pushing the bounds of what I know and do in order to make new and more unique designs. I've touched in many area of jewelry making, and for a while, earrings were the one thing I felt most comfortable with.
However, about early 2022, I was asked to make a very specific design. Something I had never made before, and I really wanted to give it a shot. I loved the outcome and learned my skills. I decided to let my creativity really flow and began sketching out new ideas every chance I got, so that I would not forget them by the time I sat down to make jewelry next. Up until the fall, I was making new designs constantly and was loving every second of it.
I am getting back into the swing of things, and I could not be happier about it. I am working to be able to set my shop back up and continue selling on Etsy.
