Simka Sol est l'enfant artistique de la graphiste Sara (Simcha) Charles.

Sara a synthétisé le design de motifs de surface, la sérigraphie et la mode dans une ligne passionnée de vêtements, d'art et de décoration intérieure qui expose ses imprimés et ses œuvres d'art distinctifs. Son style graphique audacieux et ses créations terrestres mais parfois macabres sont facilement reconnaissables et très recherchées.

Diplômée du Massachusetts College of Art and Design (2007), elle a développé son entreprise de manière réfléchie au cours des 14 dernières années. Honorée d'être une vendeuse vedette d'Etsy et un article phare d'Etsy Quit Your Day Job, ses œuvres ont été publiées dans de nombreuses publications telles que Magnolia Journal Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Business Insider et ont eu le plaisir de vendre ses œuvres pour les exposer dans deux grands magazines. Ensembles de sitcom ABC.


• Fabrication responsable
Depuis que j'ai appris à sérigraphier, j'ai modifié le processus et je me l'approprie en exposant mes écrans au soleil pendant la journée, ce qui élimine le besoin d'unités d'exposition aux UV et d'électricité. Ce processus qui dépend tellement de l'environnement m'a aidé à ralentir dans un monde « présent » au rythme effréné, à prendre une profonde respiration et à apprécier ce que la nature nous offre comme outils naturels.

J'imprime également en utilisant uniquement des encres écologiques à base d'eau, qui ne contiennent AUCUN COV nocif, PVC ou toute autre substance toxique nocive, ce qui les rend sans danger pour l'environnement ainsi que pour l'utilisateur. Nous étudions les options solaires pour 2015 !

Je suis ravi d'annoncer que j'offre des tissus usinés aux États-Unis ainsi que des mélanges biologiques importés certifiés, récoltés et fabriqués selon des directives strictes en matière d'environnement et de production de vêtements responsable dans le monde entier. Nos offres biologiques sont entièrement certifiées par IMO, Control Union, OCIA, NOP ou Ecocer et teintes avec des colorants réactifs aux fibres à faible impact. Les mélanges biologiques importés sont fabriqués dans des usines où les travailleurs travaillent dans un environnement bien entretenu, sain et sécuritaire ; ils sont bien formés pour leur travail ; ils sont traités avec respect ; ils sont payés équitablement et bénéficient d'une assurance maladie, de prestations de maladie et de congé de maternité. Aucun travail des enfants n’est utilisé.

La majorité de nos tissus sont fabriqués aux États-Unis et sont indiqués sur les pages produits. Nous commandons notre tissu en grande quantité pour réduire notre empreinte d'expédition et afin d'offrir un produit continu et cohérent.
Tous nos vêtements faits à la main sont cousus à 10 pieds de l'endroit où ils sont imprimés à la main dans mon studio.

Chaque article de la boutique est fabriqué à la main dans mon home studio, de l’idée initiale au produit fini. Le processus de chaque article est complété par mes mains et chaque produit est spécial et unique.

Simka Sol is the art child of graphic designer Sara (Simcha) Charles.

Sara synthesized surface pattern design, screen printing and fashion into a fervid line of clothing, art and home decor that exhibits her distinctive prints and artworks. Her bold graphic style and earthly yet occasionally macabre designs are easily recognizable and wildly sought-after.

Honored to be an Etsy Featured Seller and an Etsy Quit Your Day Job article spotlight, her works have been published in numerous publications such as Magnolia Journal Magazine, Apartment Therapy, Business Insider and has had the thrill of selling her art for display on two major ABC sitcom sets.


• Responsible Manufacturing
Since learning how to screen print I've modified the process and made it my own by exposing my screens in the daytime sun, which eliminates the need for uv exposure units and electricity. This process which is so dependent on the environment has helped me slow down in a fast paced "now" world, take a deep breath and appreciate what nature gives us as natural tools.

I also print using only eco-friendly water based inks, which contain NO harmful VOC's, PVC or any other harmful toxic substances, making them safe for environment as well as the user. We are looking into solar options for 2015!

I am excited to announce that I offer USA milled fabrics as well as certified imported organic blends, harvested and manufactured under strict environmental and Worldwide Responsible Apparel Production guidelines. Our organic offerings are fully certified by IMO, Control Union, OCIA, NOP or Ecocer and and dyed with low impact, fiber reactive dyes. Imported organic blends are manufactured in mills where workers operate in a well maintained, healthy and safe environment; they are well trained for their jobs; they are treated with respect; they are paid fairly and are provided with health insurance, sick and maternity leave benefit. No child labor is used.

Majority of our fabrics are milled in the USA and are noted as to which on product pages. We order our fabric in large quantities to reduce our shipping footprint and in order to offer a continual and consistent product.
All of our handmade garments are sewn 10 feet from where they are hand printed in my studio.

Every item in the shop is handmade in my home studio, from the initial idea, to the finished product. Each item's process is completed by my hands and each product is special and unique.
