Creëren, dingen maken met je handen, schoonheid en nut. Kunst en ambacht zijn altijd een deel van mijn leven geweest. Mijn moeder was modeontwerpster en styliste en de eerste vrouw in ons gezin die naar de universiteit ging. Ik werd de tweede generatie die een kunstdiploma behaalde toen ik afstudeerde aan het New York State College of Ceramics, School of Art & Design aan de Alfred University met mijn BFA in Studio Art. Ik groeide op met het bezoeken van grote grootstedelijke instellingen gewijd aan kunst en cultuur met mijn ouders, en als tiener werd ik blootgesteld aan het idee van ambacht als een beroep toen ik begon te werken voor een pottenbakker bij een lokaal ambacht rechtvaardig. Het idee om de kost te verdienen door je creativiteit en schoonheid en nut te combineren, heeft me nooit verlaten. Ik ben gecharmeerd van de Arts and Crafts-beweging en haar filosofie om jezelf te omringen met zorgvuldig gekozen, esthetisch aantrekkelijke en praktische objecten. De relatie van de Shakers met hun omgeving is ook een van mijn inspiratiebronnen, een van de vele. Ik houd veel rekening met deze invloeden, evenals met mijn opleiding in kunst, wanneer ik het type items kies dat ik maak of verfraai, en de manier waarop ze zijn versierd. Mijn mixed-media en cross-disciplinaire kunstwerken zijn getoond in solo- en groepstentoonstellingen in Washington, DC, Maryland, Kentucky en New York. Momenteel zijn mijn ambachtelijke stukken te vinden in het centrum van Louisville, Kentucky bij Craft Gallery.
Het is een genoegen om te zien hoe mensen genieten van wat ik heb gemaakt, voor mij om mijn creativiteit en enthousiasme te delen, en een eer wanneer die mensen mijn klanten worden en een van mijn stukken hun eigen maken.
Veel van de items die ik heb vermeld zijn uniek in hun soort, maar ik doe ook aangepaste stukken, laat me gewoon weten wat je zoekt.
Ik woon momenteel in Louisville, Kentucky met mijn man, Neal en onze drie katten, Rupert, La Vache en Oberon. Ik ben een fervent wandelaar, backpackliefhebber (200+ mijl op het AT in 2008), vrijwilliger bij de Forest Service, geschiedenisnoot en historische reinactor bij de SCA (10e C. Angelsaksische persona) en een juridische professional tijdens de week.

Creating, making things with your hands, beauty and usefulness. Art and craft have always been a part of my life. My mother was a fashion designer and stylist, and the first woman in our family to attend college. I became the second generation to obtain an art degree when I graduated from the New York State College of Ceramics, School of Art & Design at Alfred University with my BFA in Studio Art. I grew up visiting major metropolitan institutions dedicated to art and culture with my parents, and as a teenager I was exposed to the notion of craft as a profession when I began working for a potter at a local craft fair. The idea of making a living through one’s creativity while combining beauty and usefulness has never left me. I am enamored by the Arts and Crafts movement and its philosophy of surrounding oneself with carefully-chosen, aesthetically-pleasing and practical objects. The relationship of the Shakers to their surroundings is also one of my inspirations, one among many. I take these influences, as well as my training in art, very much into consideration when I choose the type of items that I create or embellish, and the manner in which they are adorned. My mixed-media and cross-disciplinary artwork has been shown in solo and in group shows in Washington, DC, Maryland, Kentucky and New York. Currently my craft pieces can be found in downtown Louisville, Kentucky at Craft Gallery.
It is a pleasure to witness folks enjoying what I have made, for me to share my creativity and enthusiasm, and an honor when those folks become my customers and make one of my pieces their own.

I currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky with my husband, Neal and our three cats, Rupert, La Vache and Oberon. I am an avid hiker, backpacking enthusiast (200+ miles on the AT in 2008), volunteer with the Forest Service, history nut and historical reinactor with the SCA (10th C. Anglo-Saxon persona) and a legal professional during the week.
