How I Got Here
Darbs By Design, à l’origine Darbs Designs inc, a initialement commencé le 5 juillet 2020 sur Instagram et RedBubble. En tant qu’ancienne étudiante en art au milieu de la quarantaine, du Covid, de la brutalité policière et de nombreuses manifestations, j’ai été continuellement inspirée à créer des œuvres d’art et des produits qui documenteraient non seulement ce qui se passait dans le monde, mais aussi ce que je ressentais en tant que jeune femme afro-américaine dans le climat social d’aujourd’hui. L’entreprise a commencé avec des peintures qui amplifient la grandeur et la beauté que je vois au sein de notre communauté. Finalement, des masques faciaux ont été ajoutés à la liste pour aider à lutter contre le Covid et à nous protéger du Covid jusqu’à ce que le vaccin soit mis à la disposition de tous.
En tant qu’artiste, j’aime développer et pratiquer plusieurs formes d’art différentes, d’où l’introduction récente de bijoux dans la boutique. C’est quelque chose que j’ai aimé faire au lycée et que je voulais juste partager avec vous tous. Cette entreprise va continuer à croître à mesure que je grandis en tant qu’artiste et femme d’affaires, alors préparez-vous à voir la variété d’art et de pièces que je crée pour vous grandir. J’ai tellement de choses à partager avec vous tous à travers cette entreprise et je sais juste que tout ici est fait avec amour.

Darbs By Design, originally Darbs Designs inc, initially began on July 5, 2020, on Instagram and RedBubble. As an ex-art student in the middle of quarantine, Covid, police brutality, and numerous protests, I was continually inspired to create art and products that would not only document what was going on in the world, but also how I felt as a young, African American woman in today’s social climate. The business started with paintings that amplify the greatness and the beauty I see within our community. Eventually, face masks were added to the list to help combat and protect us from Covid until the vaccine was made available to everyone.
As an artist, I enjoy expanding and practicing several different art forms, hence the recent introduction of jewelry to the shop. It's something that I enjoyed doing in high school and just wanted to share with you all. This business is going to continue to grow as I grow as an artist and a businesswoman, so be prepared to see the variety of art and pieces I create for you grow. I have so much to share with you all through this business and just know that everything here is made with love.
