Antiques, Vintage and Collectibles
Mother was a "late in life" child and my grandparents seemed ancient to me. But I adored the old Arts & Crafts style cottage they lived in, which my grandfather -- a skilled carpenter -- built. My grandmother gardened like a pro and filled her cozy home with English antiques, finely embroidered linens, baking pies, flowers and canasta playing ladies -- all wearing their best silk dresses, stockings, hats and gloves.
Although mother chose to go sleekly contemporary in her own style, I did the generational skip and took after grandmere. Luxuriating in the casual, eclectic clutter of antiques, shabby chic finds and vintage treasures with old-style charm around me, I've collected antiques in interesting places all my life.
Though my own home has long since filled, my eye has been trained and treasure continues to beckon. The collecting goes on. What else to do but throw open Lulu's Door and invite in the discerning shopper?
