St. Dymphna is the patron saint of everything crazy. Crazy people, crazy symptoms, nervous and mental disorders, nerves,anxiety,possession and sleepwalking and other sleep disturbances.

Baptized in secret, the daughter of a pagan king in Ireland, Dymphna became the queen of things insane when her father went stark raving mad, hounding her to the ends of the earth (in Ireland). After her mother died her father decided Dymphna would make a good wife...she looked like her mom, anyhow. The parish priest grabbed Dymphna and put her into hiding. They lived as hermits until Dymphna's father found them and chopped her head off. The priest, too.
