Round-shaped straw hat handmade in the traditional technique that consists of braiding strands of rye straw. Handmade in northern Portugal. Due to the handcrafted nature of the product, the dimensions and thickness of the material may vary in each hat.

Unisex design with many different head sizes. These straw hats tend to get rather bigger than smaller, so if you're undecided between two sizes, just pick the smaller one. Please, leave me your head measurement on your order notes so that I can ship you a hat that will fit you better!

- MEASURING YOUR HEAD -
Check your size measuring with a sewing tape around your head, by your forehead line. Just leave me your exact measurement. Your ideal size is about 0.7 cm (0.3") less than your head measurement so that it fits you snugly (so the hat does not fall down).

ATTENTION! I cannot accept free exchanges or returns from wrong sizes, so be sure to double-check your measurements!!

ETHICS
When you make a purchase at Mariamélia you're supporting local small-scale manufacturers and artisans to keep their trade alive and relevant. All shipping is made using mostly reused paper and cardboard, inside a recycled plastic mailer.

PACKAGING
Take into account that hats are not shipped flat because of shipping restrictions. To guarantee a reasonable shipping fee, the package must be light, therefore, hats are shipped slightly folded upwards within a protective mailer. Once it arrives at you, holding the hat brim down with some weight and applying some heat to a damp hat, with the help of a hairdryer, will be enough to bring it to its original shape. If you wish for a different shipping method or packaging option contact me.

SHIPPING OPTIONS
Regular shipping will be handled in your country by your national post company. Bear in mind there is only 1 delivery attempt. International tracking outside of Europe takes a long time to update, so it's best to collect your parcel directly at your local post office if you might have missed the delivery.

RETURNS
I cannot pay for reshipping items that have been sent back to me because they have been unclaimed from the mail. If you don't get your parcel in about 8 days, just head to your local post office to collect your parcel. Contact me if you can't find it.

SHIPPING UPGRADE
If you need a 100% trackable and fast delivery, upgrade your shipping option to FedEx (for the US the delivery is 1-2 days). If there is no upgrade option available for your country, just reach out to me so I can give you a quote for your shipment.
