Extremely Rare Authentic Original Edwardian Art Deco Circa 1910 Cartier 14K Solid Gold Oval Charm Bracelet 💎 Fully hallmarked CARTIER 14 KT on the final clasp closing oval ring (8th image). Louis-François Cartier founded Cartier in Paris in 1847, and in 1902 opened a London boutique and opened a New York city branch in 1909 thus the latter two dates being approximates for this authentic original bracelet, since their French jewels are 18K hallmarked by an eagles head. Charms and charm bracelets were extremely popular in London and New York since it is there were it became the fashion and style specially for travel souvenirs. 14K gold is ideal for charm bracelets since its harder and more durable, less abrasive than the softer 18K gold, as this bracelet proves after a century and still in beautiful functional condition, not much wear at all the the connecting edges ! Lovely ! This authentic original charm bracelet was and is So popular that I have seen So many copies created even by Cartier themselves at later dates ! Weighs approximately 26.5 grams. Approximately 19.7 cm (7 12.4/16 inches) in total open stretched length, with each link being approximately 1.1 cm (6.8/16 of an inch) in length, and approximately 8.5 mm (5.2/16 of an inch) at its widest centre. And an inner space of approximately 6.8 mm (4.2/16 of an inch) by 4.3 mm (3.8/16 of inch), which makes the gold wire approximately 2 mm (1.3/16 of an inch) thick. Now the measurements are approximates since it was handcrafted by a master goldsmith so even then there are slight variations. The last clasp clip oval link is welded to the previous oval link to prevent the possibility of its lost, very smart. All the 14K gold oval links are solid cast, not hollow for durability and strength. The design is intentionally elegantly simple allowing for each added charm to truly be appreciated, so truly the best charm bracelet ever created !
