Painting your piggies:
1. Prep your nails. Clean off any old nail polish and make sure your nails are clean, and oil free. Using an lint free alcohol wipe can help with oils that naturally build up on your nail plate. *While you're at it, clean off the rim of your polishes. It will help preserve the longevity of your polish and keep it from getting gloopy, or little bits into your manicure.
2. Use a thin base coat. Depending on the state of your nail bed take your pick. I love Orly Bonder best.
3. Polish your nails. I love to paint my nails with 2-3 (usually 3) thin coats. Take your time. Let them dry a bit before the next coat. Usually by the time you've done all ten, you're ready to move on.
4. Clean up any spillage on the side walls or cuticle area with 100% acetone and a clean up brush. This isn't necessary but if you want a crisp manicure it's nice. *Check on YT for "How to Cleanup Your Cuticles" or some other search term.
5. Apply a top coat. A top coat is very nice, and I think a necessary luxury. I do offer a 5-FREE, glossy, quick drying top coat. https://www.etsy.com/listing/750486317/top-coat-quick-dry-5-free-nails?ref=shop_home_active_1&frs=1 I like it THICK and fast drying. That's what I offer. There are so many companies with varied top coats - take your pick.
6. Sit there for a good ten minutes and enjoy the fruit of your labor.
7. Apply cuticle oil or lotion. I prefer cuticle oil directly after the mani, and lotion after that to keep me moisturized.
8. On with life!
Is your polish thick? You can buy a thinner for that. A few drops and a half a million shakes will fix those problem polishes and restore some of your favorites you thought were dead in the water. I recommend WonderBeautyProduct's "Liquid Velvet" here on Etsy for that: https://www.etsy.com/listing/198638939/liquid-velvet-nail-polish-restoration?ref=shop_home_feat_4

Nail Polish Update: I've been unable to source many of my original supplies. I'm switching from a 10-Free to a 5-Free formula. My base is (and will remain) 10-Free, but some of the pigments and colors are only 5-Free, So while 95% of my formula is 10-Free (and vegan), I'm going to begin to advertise as 5-Free. I will be updating my individual listings to reflect which polishes are indeed truly 10-Free vs. 5-Free very soon.
Thank you so much for understanding and your business. Making polish has got to be one of the funnest, and most rewarding things I've done so far!
