NowBar entstand wie die meisten Streaming-Tools: Ich wollte, dass mein eigenes Overlay besser aussieht. Ich streame mit laufender Musik, der Chat fragte ständig, welches Lied gerade gespielt wird, und jedes Widget, das ich ausprobierte, sah entweder veraltet aus, benötigte einen lokalen Server im Hintergrund oder funktionierte nicht mehr, sobald ich Musik von meinem Handy abspielte.
Also habe ich mir die Bar gebaut, die ich mir immer gewünscht hatte: Milchglas, Live-Albumcover, ein kleiner Puls, der sich im Takt der Musik bewegt, und Animationen beim Titelwechsel. Komplett gehostet, also nur ein Link, der in OBS eingefügt wird – keine Installation nötig. Funktioniert auf jedem PC oder Mac und auch dann, wenn die Musik vom Smartphone kommt. Dann wollten meine Freunde sie auch haben, und so wurde NowBar zum Produkt.
Am meisten stolz bin ich auf das Nutzungsmodell: Jedes Overlay läuft über die kostenlose Spotify-App des Käufers. Ihr Link gehört Ihnen für immer – niemand kann ihn deaktivieren, auch ich nicht. Keine Abonnements, keine Konten, keine Datenbank, die Ihre Daten speichert.

NowBar started the way most stream tools do: I wanted my own overlay to look better. I stream with music running, chat kept asking what song was playing, and every widget I tried either looked dated, needed a local server running in the background, or broke the moment I played music from my phone.
So I built the bar I actually wanted: frosted glass, live album art, a little pulse that moves with the music, animations when tracks change. Fully hosted, so it's one link pasted into OBS and nothing to install — it works on any PC or Mac, and keeps working when the music comes from your phone. Then my friends wanted it, and NowBar became a product.
The part I'm proudest of is the ownership model: every overlay runs on the buyer's own free Spotify app. Your link is yours forever — nobody can switch it off, including me. No subscriptions, no accounts, no database holding your data.
