Follow me on Instagram #wonderwoollens to see work in progress, new designs, etc. I love fibre and I love colour so combining the two is my idea of heaven! I spin, dye, knit, crochet, braid (Kumihimo) and make Dorset buttons.

I only use the best quality fibres such as alpaca, merino, silk and Blue-faced Leicester, (a British breed of sheep) all of which are very wearable and 'next to skin' soft. All my items are created in our smoke-free, pet-free home.

WonderWoollens at a charity event.

I opened WonderWoollens to sell my handspun creations.

Having knitted and crocheted since I was about five years old, I added spinning to my skills about twenty years ago. I have two modern wheels which I use mainly for creating things to sell, as well as six other wheels, some antique and some awaiting restoration. I find spinning extremely relaxing and I love the process which turns a mass of raw fibre into useable yarn.

I love the way that handspun yarn adds more character to my items. I find working with natural fibres far more pleasing than commercial yarns and when I started dyeing my handspun yarn, I discovered that I could make truly 'OOAK' (one of a kind) products.

I built up a modest amount of stock for craft fairs and charity events and when I discovered that customers loved the uniqueness of my products and the high quality of the fibres which I use, I decided to open WonderWoollens here on Etsy.
