I guess you can call me a nature freak which is fine with me. It's the way I was brought up. I come from a family who loves animals and nature and I married a man who feels the same.
My Dad had a PhD in Botany and my Mom was a horticulturalist. As a result we always had the nicest yard in the neighborhood, and I knew many plants by their Latin names by the time I was 10. My parents passed their love of nature in all its forms on to me. One of the best lessons they taught me is to pay attention to my surroundings - to look for the things so small or subtle or blended into the background that they easily go unnoticed but they're such treasures when you find them.
I'm an avid gardener with a great love and respect for all living things, no matter how small. My late husband and I developed our little piece of heaven to include a small waterfall, a fish pond and lots of colorful plants and flowers to make the place welcoming to whoever chooses to flutter, hop or buzz in to make themselves at home.
Each one of my photos has a story behind it and is of something that makes me happy - I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them and I'm happy to share them with you! Thanks for stopping by!
