Behind the Patterns
Ich habe mit acht Jahren angefangen zu häkeln, als mir meine Mutter ein Knäuel kobaltblaues Garn und eine 3,75-mm-Häkelnadel schenkte, um einen Schal zu häkeln – der übrigens bis heute erhalten geblieben ist. Schnell entdeckte ich Amigurumi und lernte verschiedene Techniken mithilfe von Video-Tutorials. Mit der Zeit entwarf ich eigene Stücke für Freunde und Familie, fasziniert davon, wie jedes Projekt durch den Häkelprozess seinen ganz eigenen Charakter entwickelte.
Neben dem Häkeln entdeckte ich meine Leidenschaft für Kunst und Musik, die mich schließlich zum Architekturstudium führte. Die Verbindung zwischen Architektur und Häkeln war für mich sofort spürbar: Beides sind Formen des persönlichen Ausdrucks, erfordern Balance und Kreativität und erzählen durch Struktur und Detail eine Geschichte.
Heute vereint Little Aud Things diese Einflüsse durch aufwendige Kleidungsstücke und Amigurumi-Muster, die durch unkonventionelle Konstruktion, Textur und Persönlichkeit geprägt sind.
I started crocheting at eight years old, when my mom gave me a ball of cobalt blue yarn and a 3.75mm hook to make a scarf - which somehow still survives to this day. Quickly I discovered amigurumi and learned different techniques through video tutorials. Over time, I started designing my own pieces for friends and family, drawn to the way each project seemed to develop its own character through the process of making.
Alongside crochet, I discovered a passion for art and music, eventually leading me to study architecture in college. The connection between architecture and crochet felt immediate to me: both are forms of personal expression, require balance and creativity, and tell a story through structure and detail.
Today, Little Aud Things brings those influences together through intricate garments and amigurumi patterns shaped by unconventional construction, texture, and personality.
