Minimum board width to fit across the frame: 8 inches (204mm).

Maximum recommended board size: Stores rectangular wood boards in a landscape position that are up to 15 inches (381mm) on their shorter side which covers the majority of wood kitchen boards. Although the stand is exceptionally strong, I would not recommend storing extra heavy cast iron and stone boards such as marble and granite that can weight over 20 lbs. (10kg) each.

MATERIALS: The frame is made from genuine Baltic birch, a premium grade of imported plywood often used for Scandinavian furniture, toys, musical instruments and sporting equipment. The metal rod is machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. The two screws are black stainless steel and rustproof. Top notch materials are used throughout for a strong build.

FINISH: The wood frame is finished in water-based stains and polyurethane clear coat that are Low VOC (volatile organic compound), odorless and non-toxic. The aluminum rod receives a durable smooth black anodized finish. The water-resistant finishes are stain-proof so food and beverage spills can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

THE DESIGN, this rack is based on the signature sloping design of my popular media stands and record stands. It uses two of my favorite materials for a clean contemporary look, Baltic birch and Anodized Aluminum. The wood frames provide a natural warm texture while the aluminum rod and screws provide a sleek contemporary accent feature. The shape explores the strength characteristics of these two exceptional materials to achieve a slender, lightweight and exceptionally strong rack. The wood frame shows an abundance of angles and curves for an interesting look that is welcoming to the eyes and soft to the touch. More than just a rack, this is a wood sculpture that will add interest to your kitchen décor while serving a purpose. Some have called it a work of art for their kitchen.

H A N D M A D E, I make this rack from scratch at my small Colorado workshop. The intricate curved shape of the two wood frames is always challenging for sanding and hand finishing. The aluminum rod is either fully machined in my own shop or partially machined to size and threaded on a lathe at a small local machine shop while I do the final finishing and polishing. The wood frames are cut to size using CNC, hand sanded multiple times until smooth followed by several coats of clear coat finish over a period of several days. The black anodize finish on the aluminum rod is done to perfection at a small local metal finishing shop. Although this is a handmade product, it was designed using modern CAD software for a perfect fit and a quality end result. Genuinely made right here in Colorado Springs, USA.
