• Overlay Mosaic Crochet with slanted stitches - a combination of single crochet (sc) in the back loop and double crochet (dc) in the front loop; Each round is made with one color

• In addition to vertical dc, I also use slanted dc (made one st back or forward), decreases, increases, and occasionally, front post stitches for animal eyes and noses or for leaf midribs and veins.
