This laptop stand increases the monitor height, bringing it closer to the ideal position where the top of the screen is level with your eyes. The higher camera position improves yor video angle so you can look more natural in video chats and virtual meetings. The stand also tilts the keyboard to a more natural position for your wrists and provides a better view of the keys. I designed this folding stand to improve your overall comfort when using a laptop computer on a desk or table and made it small enough and ultra lightweight so you can take along wherever you go. MATERIALS: The frame is made from genuine imported Baltic birch, a premium grade of plywood often used for Scandinavian furniture, toys, musical instruments and sporting equipment. This plywood shows a attractive pattern of darker and lighter stripes around the edges. The metal rod is machined from aircraft grade aluminum alloy for high strength and low weight. The two thumbscrews are stainless steel with black plastic Delrin knobs. Top notch materials are used throughout.

FINISH: The wood frame is finished in a durable water-based polyurethane clear coat that is Low VOC, odorless and non-toxic. Optional wood stains are also water-based and low VOC. The aluminum rod is polished to a brushed satin look and receives a beautiful, anodized finish that resembles the finish of many laptops in either clear aluminum "silver" color, black or blue. You can also choose a natural aluminum finish without anodizing at checkout. All finishes are water resistant so stand can be cleaned using a damp rag.

THE DESIGN, based on twenty years of experience using laptop computers I designed a laptop stand following the principles of Human-Centered Design and taking into account the needs of the user, ergonomics and usability. The stand uses two of my favorite materials for a clean contemporary look; Baltic birch and anodized aluminum. The shape explores the strength characteristics of these two exceptional materials to achieve a slender, lightweight and very strong rack, similar to how a bicycle or aircraft is designed to be light and strong. The wood frame shows an abundance of angles and curves for an interesting look that is welcoming to the eyes. I eliminated the need for tools by using two thumbscrews to hold everything together and allow easy assembly. More than just a stand, this is a modern wood sculpture with clean lines that will add visual interest to your home or office while serving a purpose.

H A N D M A D E, I make this stand from scratch at my Colorado workshop. The aluminum rod is machined to size and threaded on the lathe. The wood frames are shaped to exact dimensions using CNC, sanded and hand finished with several coats of clear coat for good looks. The anodize finish on the aluminum rod is done to perfection at a local metal finishing shop that always delivers an amazing job. Although this product is handmade, it was first carefully designed down to the smallest details using modern 3D CAD software for a perfect fit and a quality end result.
