Materials: stoneware clay, glaze

This ceramic soap dish is wheel thrown in a speckled brown stoneware clay and glazed in a glossy white glaze.

It is 5 3/8 inches wide and 1 1/8 inch tall. It will accommodate commercial soaps and the larger handmade soaps as well, fitting both the square and rectangular bars. It is a little wider than standard soap dishes, but I have recently purchased some hand made soaps that require a larger flatter dish, so this one will accommodate those as well.

Lots of the speckles from the clay come through this glaze making it a rich and rustic piece. The little colored "buttons" in the center sit up from the surface, keeping your expensive handmade soaps up out the water that pools naturally in a soap dish. This allows the soap to dry out between uses, keeping it in a solid usable form.
