Here I have some hollow book safes I made using vintage, beautifully-patterned, decorative Reader's Digest Books.
Hollow Book Safes have been around for many years. They are decorative, yet very practical. Books are often overlooked by intruders now days. So if you're looking for a good place to stash your goods, then why not in plain sight... in the least of likely places? These hollow book stashes make great gifts and are often seen as a cool novelty.
I have a few different styles of book safes, different books, different shapes cut out, etc... Feel free to look around my shop and decide which one will work best for you. With each book, once the pages are cut, I then secure the remaining part of the book's pages with professional book binding glue. Each book is crafted by hand using techniques I learned in a professional bindery.
Seen here are some vintage Reader's Digest Condensed books. These books measure roughly 5½ inches wide by 7 inches tall by about 1¼ inches thick. The inside dimensions (size of the cutout area) is roughly 4 x 6 inches. This size is very versatile and can hold a lot of different things, including a small pistol if you like. This listing is for only one book.
Because I have sold quite a few of these lately, I currently don't have any books completely finished. But as you can see, I have plenty of designs and colors available. Just know it will take me 3-5 days to create your hollow book stash. This is also amongst other orders being processed for other things.
*** Please ask me about any particular color and/or pattern you would like before purchasing.
*** Please note: I recycle and upcycle old, new, and vintage books. All books are in used condition unless otherwise stated. Most books show some signs of "character" (slight wear and tear), but all the bindings are in good, often repaired condition. Rest assured I mainly use overrun books, or ones that no one wants. I will only cut up a new book if for a special request, and that also depends on the book. I refuse to cut up any Bibles/religious books, original classics, or books actually worth any great monetary value.
