100% Cotton Calico – Unbleached Pre Shrunk Quilters – 60″ wide (150cm) is great for toys & much more!

This 100% loomstate, unbleached cotton calico is pre-shrunk and sold in various lengths. This extra wide cotton calico is cut from a roll of 60″ (152cm) and is a medium weight (154gsm) fabric. Quilters Pre-shrunk cotton Calico is a high quality fabric, soft to touch and perfect for many craft projects. This calico carries the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certificate (which means the fabric is safe to use for children’s toys).

This versatile fabric is plain woven, non-stretch and machine washable making it a perfect fabric for making rag dolls and many of the Tilda characters. In addition to toy making, it is also very easy to sew and is often used for quilting, toiles, embroidery, printing and many other crafts. It is a natural, undyed fibre which is therefore perfect for dying to a colour of your choice.

Our calico is available in the following sizes (the width of the roll is approximately 150cm / 60″ including the selvedges):-

Fat quarter (50cm x 75cm approx)
Half metre (100cm x 75cm approx)
1 metre pieces (100cm x 152cm approx)

(The fabric is often pre-cut and so, if you want more than 1 metre in one continuous length, please do let us know)

Because loomstate cotton calico has not gone through additional processes after being woven, you may see tiny flecks of cotton seed in the fabric. It is advisable to wash the calico before use, especially if you are using it to create doll and other cute characters.

Washing Instructions – Manufacturer says: 30 degree machine wash. Cool tumble dry. We strongly recommend testing a small piece first to be sure.

Please note: it is very difficult to photograph an exact colour match of the fabric.
