MATERIALS: The base and upper ring are shaped from premium European Baltic birch wood with a durable water-baser clear coat finish. The vertical spacer rod is machined from solid aircraft grade aluminum alloy and receives a smooth black anodized finish. Two stainless steel screws with rounded heads and a sleek black finish hold everything together for a strong simple build.

THE DESIGN: I designed this pen holder from scratch to be an interesting piece of functional décor for your desk or office. It organizes your pens and pencils plus your cellphone and serves a purpose with an interesting look and feel. It is a simple modern sculpture with clean geometric lines made exclusively from circular design elements for an organic look. The Baltic birch and aluminum materials were selected for their sleek modern look and are also very durable materials that my workshop is well equipped to work with. The screw heads are recessed into the wood and hidden from view, adding to the simple clean lines of this exquisite pen holder. The unique top ring with a see-through design has eliminated the sidewalls found on traditional pen holders and allows a full view of all the pens and pencils for easy identification. Now you can easily find the best pen or pencil for the task at hand. Writing instruments have their own singular beauty and with this desk organizer you can let them shine and become a part of your home or office décor.

HANDMADE: The wood is cut to exact dimensions on my CNC, sanded smooth and finished with several coats of clear satin poly for an attractive durable finish. The aluminum spacer rod is machined and polished on my lathe and then receives a beautiful smooth black anodize finish done to perfection at a local metal finishing shop. Although this is a handmade product, it was carefully designed on the computer using modern CAD software for a perfect fit and a quality end result. To reduce the size of shipping box this item is shipped disassembled with clear instructions and the correct hex tool for easy assembly. The assembly is really very easy and takes less than one minute even for those who are not a rocket scientist.
