With its wide shape and dropped shoulders, this stockinette stitch short sleeved cardigan is worn open over a small top.
It has a vertical motif along the front edges and the cuffs.

CONSTRUCTION
Maureen is worked flat and top down.
From a crochet provisional cast-on, knit the back yoke and the back of the short sleeves in stockinette stitch while placing the lace motif on the cuffs. After working the length of the armhole, the sleeve stitches are bound off on each side and the back stitches are put on hold.
Then the stitches from the provisional cast on are picked up and worked in stockinette stitch for both fronts (one after the other) while maintaining the lace pattern on the cuffs and adding the lace pattern on the front edges. After working the armhole depth, the sleeve stitches are bound off and the front stitches are put on hold.
The fronts and back are joined to work the jacked body flat, while continuing the lace pattern on the edges.
The hem is worked in garter stitch and bound off with the double chain bind off.
After blocking the cardigan, the sleeve undersides are sewn with a mattress stitch.
MATERIALS:
Yarn: Weight: fingering (400 m for 100 grams)
Quantities : S1 = 720 / S2 = 780 / S3 = 825 / S4= 890 / S5 = 960 / S6 = 1000 / S7 = 1050 / S8 = 1180 / S9 = 1230 / S10 = 1350 / S11 = 1480 / S12 = 1540 meters
NOTE: These are just approximations. Total yarn usage will depend on the yarn you use, your personal gauge. I would recommend that if you want to extend it, you have a larger amount.
