Under the tree is a beginner friendly, festive triangle crochet shawl with a fir tree forrest pattern, designed to remind you of a winter alpine mountain side. This shawl will keep you feeling cosy and festive through the Christmas season and beyond.

Skills Used
This is a relatively simple shawl pattern, suitable for beginners with some experience. You will need knowledge of basic crochet stitches, techniques and terminology.
The pattern uses mainly US double crochet and chain stitches. You will work in rows, using simple increases and decreases, ensuring you maintain the correct stitch count and placement.

Materials
You will need approximately 300g / 680m/750yds of double knit / light worsted weight yarn and a 4.5mm crochet hook.
The shawl pictured used 290g, just under 6 balls of We Crochet Capra DK, 85% merino wool, 15% cashmere, 50g ball = 112m/123yds, Shade: Hemlock Heather

Finished Size
After blocking the finished shawl measurement is approximately 171cm/68in wingspan by 77cm/30in deep at deepest point. To change the size of the shawl, you can change the number of pattern repeats you crochet.
