M E T H O D
Unlike many tinctures made from dried herbs, our tinctures are crafted exclusively from fresh, wildcrafted plants harvested in their proper seasons to create truly full-spectrum extracts.

Each part of the hawthorn tree is harvested at its ideal time - young leaves and flowers in spring, followed by ripe berries in autumn - when each contains its highest concentration of naturally occurring plant compounds. Using all three parts creates a more complete, balanced extract than any single part alone.

What makes our little apothecary unique is the way we do everything by hand, with care and intention (‘we’ meaning I, it’s just me here!). About half of the plants we use are wildcrafted from the pristine Cascade Mountains, while the rest come from small organic family farms here in the Pacific Northwest. We gently dry render our suet tallow to keep its natural fatty acids and nutrients intact, while still removing any unpleasant scent, for a clean, skin-friendly base. We distill all of our own hydrosols in a traditional copper alembic still, craft many of our own extracts, and use a proprietary triple-extraction method for our herbal oil infusions (the rich colors and beautiful natural scents are representations of their potency!). From recipe writing and wildcrafting, to production, label design, photography, marketing, and creating our listings, we do it all in-house to keep prices fair without ever cutting corners. With over 13 years of herbal study and 26 years of skincare formulation experience, every product is thoughtfully formulated, carefully crafted, and rigorously tested so you can feel confident in its quality and consistency.
