Do you have a dog, cat, or other furry friend with difficulty getting into and out of bed? Like our pets, they get old and are at risk of hurting themselves while jumping onto and out of bed. This plan was developed to accommodate our older dachshund mix to prevent back injuries as she ages.

The approximate measurements of this ramp are 11 1/2 inches deep by 78 1/2 inches wide and stands 24 9/32 inches tall if the plans are followed. The finished project can be painted, stained, or left natural to match your decor. A few tweaks in the finishing and your pet ramp can become modern farmhouse, industrial, or vintage. While building my ramp, I covered the run with inexpensive carpet to provide a non-slip surface. You could do the same or leave it bare. The choice is yours.

This project is made entirely from easy-to-buy 1x3 dimension lumber and a quarter sheet of plywood. Pocket hole joinery is the only joining technique you need to learn in this plan. This detailed step-by-step plan helps you create an affordable pet ramp for your adorable furry friends.

The layout is good. Made some adjustments for the dachshunds we have. Some of the measurements on the directions were off, is what my husband stated. But we made it work. Took about a day to assemble.
