Vintage Stanley Works banding strap crimp sealing hand tool front action heavy duty compression pallet skid industrial shipping 5039 L type

Vintage Stanley heavy duty strap sealing tool manufactured by Stanley Tools in New Britain, Connecticut.

The badge shown in picture #4 is rusty but somewhat readable with a 10x loupe. It looks to read as follows: "L" TYPE STRAP SEALING STANLEY WORKS PAT APPLIED FOR". The number "5039" is engraved on the opposite handle.

While I CANNOT guarantee it, this strapping tool appears to be fully functional. The handles and jaw can be be opened and closed completely. The range of movement is smooth.

All components in the crimp head appear to be present and accounted for. I am not seeing anything that appears to have been broken off. There is some mild surface rusting and oxidation on the steel.

Both wood handles are solidly attached and are not cracked. There are a few wood chips, scuffing around the handle ridges and the usual age related wear you would expect to find on a vintage used hand tool.

The overall length of the tool is 18-3/8". The four opposing triangular crimp notches, one of which I'm pointing to in picture number #10, are 3/8" apart. These four crimp notches are about 1/8" high.

This vintage tool does not come up on the online secondary market very often so get it while you can!
