Available as a standard martingale dog collar OR a standard quick-release buckle collar (see 4th photo), this festive collar design features cute Christmas icons on black. The cinch loop on the martingale style is a modern circle pattern, and both collar styles are finished with metallic red hardware.

Every Eclectic Hound collar is individually handcrafted to order for the 4-legged love of your life, with quality materials purchased from USA companies. Collars are made with welded steel hardware and a strong webbing core fully wrapped in soft cotton fabric interfaced for extra structure and durability. They are triple-stitched with heavyweight monofilament thread. Buckle collars are traditional plastic side-release pinch buckle collars, NOT martingales with a buckle.

Collars are washable! I recommend hand washing them in a sink of warm soapy water, rinsing well, gently squeezing the water out (no ringing or twisting please!) and setting the collar on its edge on a folded towel for 24 hours to best hold its shape while drying.

You can use a washing machine, but I recommend putting the collar in a laundry bag or sock first to protect the hardware and the inside of your machine. DO NOT machine dry (the webbing could warp or melt).

Martingales were originally designed for sight hounds, such as greyhounds, whose heads are smaller than their necks and can easily slip traditional buckle collars, but are becoming increasingly popular for all breeds.

Martingales are made up of two pieces: the back strap which contains the size adjuster slide and the martingale loop, which functions by gently tightening around the dog’s neck when pressure is applied to the leash, so the dog can’t back out of the collar. Once pressure is released, the collar relaxes back to its resting position.

Martingales don't open and close but rather are put on and removed by sliding over the dog’s head, then adjusting it down to neck size.

X-SMALL (8-10") and XX-Large (22-25") are also available upon request. If your dog is in between sizes order up one size for a martingale since it will need to be large enough to slide over your dog's head without hurting him. For a buckle collar, include your dog's neck measurement in the "Note to Seller" box and I'll custom make an in-between size.

YES! If you have special fabric in hand, or find fabric online that would be just perfect for your baby, I'm more than happy to custom make a collar out of it.

You can either mail the fabric to me, or if it's available online, I'll set up a custom listing for you and order the fabric myself.
